Fix for Revolution Slider Libraries Include
If you’ve ever worked with or purchased a premium theme from Theme Forest, then odds are very good that your theme came bundled with the ubiquitous Revolution Slider. This is the plugin that once broke the Internet. (I like to say) back in 2014. Themepunch, the plugin’s developer easily recovered from that debacle and to this day the slider is actually a great plugin to show dynamic slideshows on your WordPress-powered website.
There is a common issue with the slider though that take a few minutes to figure out, so I thought I would add the easy steps to fix the issue.
Houston, We’ve had a Problem
That can sometimes cause problems, as when you view your page that the slider’s on, you see the following error in red from the Revolution Slider plugin: If you want to use the PHP function “putRevSlider” in your code, Include RevSlider libraries globally (all pages / posts) in the back-end’s “General Settings.” (Or add the current page to the “Pages to include RevSlider libraries” option box.)
So to make that change, enter your page slug, and the page Id into the spot labeled, “Pages to include RevSlider libraries:” Also add the term, “homepage”, if it’s on your home page. But After saving changes, again you check your slider page, and the error message in red has changed…
The param hide_slider_under should not be empty
In fact, three two more error messages will appear after this one, but to make it work like you want just fill in the section for slider options for the slider itself. Second panel down on the right, then the, “mobile” section. Here’s another screen shot. Fill those three values or more error messages will present. Note: It’s smart to use the value of your mobile breakpoints if you want to hide on mobile, as the plugin will use these values globally, or use a value so small it’s won’t matter.
That’s all there is too it. I don’t really think this is necessarily a bug, however it could be a little more clear on how to accomplish this at the forefront. Enjoy!
